The conversation then shifts to whether consumers actually care about diamond fluorescence and other categorization nuance that is prevalent within the industry. Next, the two discuss how rough diamond supply is a function of price. Jon then candidly shares his thoughts on the manufacturing business, “memo” goods, lab-created diamonds and how the diamond and jewelry industry has changed in recent decades. The conversation concludes with Jon talking about current demand trends in the jewelry business in early-2021.
